Almost nobody sacks a cleaner in month one. What actually happens is slower and harder to catch: the bathrooms stay done, because complaints about bathrooms are immediate. Dusting stops. Edges stop being vacuumed. Nobody moves the furniture.
By the time someone says “the office doesn’t feel as clean as it used to”, three months have gone and there’s no way to establish when it started, what changed, or whether the hours you’re paying for are the hours being worked. The conversation becomes two opinions, and opinions don’t resolve anything.
The absence of a record is what lets standards slip unnoticed. Not bad cleaners, the vast majority are conscientious people doing a hard job. The problem is structural. So we fixed the structure.
